Compare two vehicles.
Field by field.
Use two VINs to build a side-by-side specification matrix from NHTSA vPIC manufacturer data. “Not returned” means the source supplied no value for that field.
Build your comparison
Both VINs are looked up only after submission. This comparison describes returned records; it is not a vehicle inspection or history report.
Both VINs are sent to NHTSA vPIC when you submit. Returned values depend on manufacturer data coverage. Privacy details.
Compare returned data carefully
The comparison shows up to 12 identity and equipment fields returned by NHTSA’s Vehicle Product Information Catalog. Manufacturer records can vary, so blank or “Not returned” values do not establish that a vehicle lacks an attribute.
A check digit is not an identity check
The U.S. check digit shown beside each vehicle checks the VIN’s mathematical transcription rule. It cannot confirm the physical VIN plate, ownership, title status, accident history or odometer reading. Review the check-digit calculation and its limits.
Need individual vehicle details?
The single-VIN decoder shows available manufacturer data and links to NHTSA’s VIN-specific recall search. VINDECODE does not provide vehicle-history records.
